Bayern Munich Stumble Again, Lose 3-2 in Bochum
Bavarian Giants Lose Third Straight Match, Fall Behind in Bundesliga Title Race
Defending champions suffer eight-point gap to league leaders
Bayern Munich's title defense took a blow on Sunday as the Bundesliga giants suffered a shock 3-2 defeat to VfL Bochum. It was Bayern's third consecutive loss in all competitions and dropped them eight points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen in the title race.
Despite Bayern's dominance in possession, Bochum took a surprise lead through Sebastian Polter. Joshua Kimmich equalized for Bayern, but Erik Wekenmann restored Bochum's advantage before half-time. Maxim Leitsch extended the lead early in the second half, leaving Bayern with a mountain to climb.
Serge Gnabry pulled one back for Bayern, but Bochum held on for a famous victory. The loss intensifies the pressure on Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann, who has now seen his team lose three of their last four matches.
