Broncos Fullback Reece Walsh On The Cusp Of Record Breaking Nrl Deal

Broncos fullback Reece Walsh on the cusp of record-breaking NRL deal

Walsh set to become Brisbane's highest-paid player

Contract will make 21-year-old the NRL's youngest $1 million man

Brisbane Broncos fullback Reece Walsh is set to become the highest-paid player in the club's history after agreeing to a five-year deal worth a reported $68 million.

The 21-year-old will become the NRL's youngest player to earn more than $1 million a season, surpassing the current record held by Cameron Munster.

Walsh has been in sensational form for the Broncos this season, scoring 11 tries in 10 games and setting up another 15.

His performances have helped Brisbane climb to fourth on the NRL ladder, and he is now considered one of the best fullbacks in the competition.

The Broncos have been keen to secure Walsh's long-term future, and the new deal will keep him at the club until the end of the 2029 season.

Walsh's manager, Isaac Moses, said the fullback was "overwhelmed" by the offer.

"He's a young kid who has worked incredibly hard to get to this point, and he's very grateful for the opportunity to stay at the Broncos," Moses said.

The Broncos are hoping that Walsh can lead them to their first NRL premiership since 2006.
