Typhoon Gaemi Approaches Taiwan
First Typhoon of Season Expected to Make Landfall on Wednesday

Typhoon Gaemi, the first typhoon of the season to affect Taiwan, is expected to make landfall on the northeast coast between sometime on Wednesday.
The Joint Typhoon Warning Center said in its latest advisory that Gaemi was a typhoon in the Philippine Sea late Tuesday Taiwan time. As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, Gaemi was located 933 km south-southwest of Kadena Air Base and has tracked northwestward at 6 kmh.
Gaemi is expected to bring gale-force winds and heavy rain to Taiwan. Residents in the affected areas are urged to take precautions and monitor the latest weather updates.
