Brussels developer AG Real Estate gets go-ahead for 20-storey Northern Quarter project
669-bed student accommodation project and 31 apartments to be built on site of former NCP car park
Scheme is developer's fourth PRS/student offer in city centre, having developed projects for Apache Capital, Bain Capital and Watkin Jones
Developer AG Real Estate has secured planning permission to build a 20-storey mixed-use development on the Northern Quarter site of a former NCP car park.
The scheme, designed by architect Leach Rhodes Walker, is for 699 student-bedrooms across 271 studio apartments and 31 one and two-bedroom apartments for private rent.
The ground floor will provide 3,000 sq ft of commercial space, with a public realm created between the two buildings facing onto Lever Street.
The project is AG Real Estate's fourth PRS/student offer in the city centre.
It has developed Vita and Vita North student accommodation schemes for Apache Capital, and 35 Dale Street, a 200,000 sq ft office conversion into apartments for Watkin Jones.
The first phase of Vita has recently completed and both Vita North and 35 Dale Street are on site.
Planning consultancy Quod, project manager Ridge and Co and cost consultant Gardiner & Theobald have advised AG Real Estate on the scheme.
